Hi everyone, with another seasonal showstopper coming soon to your sofa, we wanted to pull together a few of our favourite festive ideas for making the most out of your Xmas concert experience – The Night Before Christmas premieres on Saturday 12 December!
There’s obviously no need to complete all the steps, but we hope these ideas provide some fun at home as the nights draw in.

STEP 1:
Dig out a Christmas jumper or even create something yourself!

STEP 2:
Have a treemendous time decorating, if you haven’t already! If you’re organised though, it’s always nice to walk or drive around your local area to spot different light displays.

STEP 3:
Get crafty and create extra decorations for the house or send them as gifts for family and friends. They’d also make lovely tokens of thanks for delivery drivers, teachers and keyworkers of every kind!

Paper Snowman (Easy Peasy and Fun)

Christmas Handprints (The Best Ideas for Kids)
Pinecone Christmas Trees (Easy Peasy and Fun)
Snow Globe (Fireflies and Mud Pies)
Home-made Snow (DaveHax)

Or if you want to go next–level, check this out for an idea…we applaud Francine Conway for this amazing window-painting tribute to the iconic, Snowman.

STEP 4:
Get inspired in the kitchen! Check out these seasonal snacks in the form of Christmas cupcakes (So Yummy):

And festive fruit (courtesy of Zoey Howell, FAMILY LOCKDOWN TIPS & IDEAS Facebook group). How cute are these banana penguins?!

STEP 5:
Write some (bad) cracker jokes to tell around the table…

STEP 6:
Invite friends and family. We’d love to see folk from all over the UK tuning in to watch The Night Before Christmas. If you’re able to plan a viewing at the same time as your loved ones (wherever they live) – ideally for the premiere itself starting at 2pm on Saturday 12 December, it’ll feel like you’re in it together. You could even have a video call during or after the film to have a chat about your best bits.

STEP 7:
Warm up and practise your dance moves as it wouldn’t be a CCC concert without a bit of joining in. Some of you might even spot yourselves on screen (thanks to everyone who sent us a video)!

STEP 8:
Set the scene. This one’s easy – draw the curtains, light the candles (or the LEDs) and turn the music up! For bonus festivity, pop on some Christmas PJs, and make sure you’ve got something comforting to hand – maybe some hot chocolate, mince pie, or something you created in Step 4

STEP 9:
Download the concert programme – find out what is being performed, what Owen would like for Christmas and have a go at the crossword!

STEP 10:

Watch The Night Before Christmas and leave us a comment under the film on our Facebook page. Feel free to ask a question or give a review, we’d love to hear from you! Once the premiere has wrapped up, there’ll likely be the small matter of presents to wrap, too. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered – watch the film back as many times as you like for the next 30 days to see you through the rest of the Christmas prep!

So there you have it, our top tips for a wonderful weekend. From everyone at CCC and the RSNO, we wish you a merry Christmas!
