Financial support by Trusts, Foundations and individuals is vital to the work of Children’s Classic Concerts
Contributions not only support our work in large concert halls, but also our smaller community events and workshops in schools and regional venues across Scotland. One of CCC’s core values is to ensure that our concerts are accessible to all children and their families in Scotland and that no financial, social or geographical barriers should stop them attending a performance. We ensure that our ticket prices remain affordable and that attending one of CCC’s concerts is cheaper than a trip to the cinema or many other family events. For each of our concerts, we offer free tickets to vulnerable children and their support network.
With this in mind, box office and commercial income can only ever cover a small part of the costs involved in providing our wide-ranging programme. Thanks to the support of regular funders we have, not only continued to offer symphony orchestra performances in Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as a community and outreach programmes across Scotland, we have also been able to develop new projects such as the Essential Orchestra and our contemporary music strand, to reach even more children and families. We aspire to continually create new and innovative performances to inspire the next generation of musicians, composers and, most essentially, music lovers.
The Coronavirus / COVID-19 pandemic is impacting the lives of each and every one of us. Under the circumstances we all find ourselves in, it has never been more important to provide continuity and entertainment for our family audience which is why our concert films are free to stream and watch back.
However, like so many of our colleagues around the country, we have been severely impacted by the crisis. Due to cancellations of concerts and events, we have lost all our ticket sales income and are currently facing a significant level of financial uncertainty.
