Yes, we're ready and waiting to make some noise with young people age 5-12! It'll be a fantastic opportunity to learn from some of the most innovative and dynamic percussion professionals! Sessions are at Stonedyke Neighbourhood Centre after school on Mondays from 9th February (schools are off that day!) through to 16th March!Iain and Stuart (the pro musicians) are back for the 5th year running to create more musical mayhem! Previous participants have made new pals, funky beats and had a bash on loads of different Samba drums! So now’s your chance to get in the groove and start some spectacular Samba playing of your own! The Drumchapel Samba Band will be drumming up a storm between 4pm and 5:45pm each week. The project will finish up with a

Our lovely lads Owen and Olly are geared up for another showstopper of a concert called Fiddlesticks - this time exploring violins and vibraphones, clarsachs and cowbells and basses of both the drum and string variety! They'll be joined by their brilliant pals in The Fejes Quartet (who also play for The Royal Scottish National Orchestra) and inspirational composer and virtuoso performer, Savourna Stevenson to bring you an epic fusion of jolly jazz, calming classical and Scottish folk music (i.e. toe-tapping tunes!)As always, there’ll be plenty of opportunities to get involved! For starters, why not book the pre-concert discovery workshop, String Along (running in Stirling and Dundee) at 1pm on the day of the concert? Get the answers to your burning musical questions and have a go on the clarsach

Thanks to everyone who came along at the weekend to celebrate with us at our pre-Christmas parties in Glasgow and Edinburgh! We thoroughly enjoyed Deck the Halls with Owen and Olly, and it's been lovely to hear that you did too! We've had quite a few requests about the 12 Tunes of Christmas finale (we jam-packed 12 of the best seasonal songs into the tune of 12 Days of Christmas, complete with actions (courtesy of and copyrighted by Owen and Olly!) so we thought we'd lend a helping hand so you can remember it all (downloadable PDF available here)! It would make a wonderful after-dinner game on Christmas Day - get the whole family going and work off those mince pies! If you're particularly pleased with the family's efforts -

Over the past few days, we've realised that we've been showing up as sold out on the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall website, but this is a glitch - there are in fact plenty of tickets still available for both the 1pm and 3pm showings of Deck the Halls with Owen & Olly! Please also be careful to select tickets for the correct time as even when you click through our site for the 3pm - the online booking system on the concert hall's page defaults to 1pm. For 3pm, please click on the drop down arrow to select it! Seems as though the Grinch has been up to his usual tricks!!

Here at Children's Classic Concerts, we're thrilled to be a champion of the BBC's Ten Pieces initiative - a wonderful adventure dedicated to bringing some epic classical* music into the classroom and a whole load of fun too! It's all around us, but the Ten Pieces film, recorded with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, digs a little deeper into this genre of music and explores the sights conjured up, as well as the sounds by each composer - imagination is key! The film is perfect for primary age children and schools can request a free DVD copy whilst stocks last. There are lots of fantastic resources that follow on from the film to help your child/school get hands-on and creative with music, so please visit the BBC Ten Pieces website

Dust off your dancing shoes, prepare to come dressed in your freaky finest and grab your tickets* now! Check out the What's On page for booking info. Hope to see you there!*Please note that our concerts are recommended for children of primary school age, although we welcome everyone.
