It was an all-round quackin’ experience that got the wee one’s imaginations running wild, the adults hopping for joy and it’s one we hope to repeat in future.  Fife Schools Project, September/October 2017CCC continued its work with Fife’s

Have you heard? We’re really pleased to be presenting Prokofiev’s masterpiece, Peter and the Wolf in a few weeks’ time! Our 18-piece Essential Orchestra have been invited back to participate at Perth Festival of the Arts at Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 19th May and we’re looking forward as always to returning to the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling, on Sunday 20th May.   You might remember Peter and the Wolf from your own childhood; with catchy musical themes and animal characters, it’s easy to see why it has been used time and again as a compelling introduction to instruments of the orchestra, in schools and in concert halls over the years. Harlow Robinson captures the phenomenon beautifully in his 1987 biography of Prokofiev, “Long after his own idyllic childhood, he continued

We’re really disappointed to announce that we’ve decided to cancel tomorrow’s performance of Tartan Tales at the Caird Hall.  Due to safety concerns and the ongoing adverse weather conditions, many of our musicians are unable to travel from the central belt. We’re also aware that much of the audience will have difficulty making their way to Dundee. This was our only planned visit for 2018, but we’ve been working hard to arrange an alternative performance of one of our other concerts, also at the Caird Hall, and are pleased to present Gypsy Jazz, featuring toe-tapping tunes (that’ll have the whole family literally dancing in the aisles) on Saturday 19 May.  If you've purchased a ticket for Tartan Tales, please hold onto it, as it'll be valid for Gypsy Jazz and we'd

Our Tartan Tales concert delighted audiences in Perth and Stirling last year, with a programme full of Scottish storytelling, family fun and legendary musicians, but let’s delve a little deeper into what you can expect as it tours to its next destination:  Dundee!  Check out the links below, to get a feel for some featured music: Misterstourworm & the Kelpie’s Gift, Savourna StevensonThis legendary tale, (with words by Stuart Paterson) has been set to music by the wonderful Savourna Stevenson. Click the link for a five minute animation, narrated by Scots actor, Billy Boyd – it’s well worth a watch! Olly has arranged the piece for our mighty mini orchestra and will step into the spotlight as narrator on the day, with Savourna herself playing the harp on stage – it’s not

Happy New Year! We hope you had a lovely stress-free Christmas and you’re looking forward to a busy 12 months ahead. We’re certainly glad to be back at CCC HQ (despite how chilly it is in here!) and can’t wait to get started on some new and exciting projects for 2018! First up, we’ll be visiting Additional Support Needs schools in Edinburgh and Glasgow (starting later this month) to provide creative composition workshops in partnership with Drake Music Scotland (DMS).  These sessions have been designed for P7s who are about to move between primary and secondary education, making use of inclusive music technology and classroom instruments.  Changing schools is a major life event, and can be a pretty scary one at that, so in delivering this project, we want to make

Owen and Olly are firmly in the festive spirit and really looking forward to our Tinseltown concerts next weekend! We want to share a wee film recorded at the Paisley Xmas lights switch-on a little while ago, with an exclusive insight into life at Christmas for our dynamic duo! Get the low-down on their favourite festive films, their most annoying Xmas songs, when they get the decorations up and more! Click here to view
