Just like that, it’s the summer holidays! What a first half of 2025 we’ve had. We’ve put the Essential Orchestra under the microscope, blasted off Out of This World on an intergalactic mission, witnessed Peter and his animal friends outwit the Wolf, and ventured on a quest to defeat a sea-dwelling monster. It’s been a busy, but hugely fun year, made even better by you, our audience. Not only have lots of you taken time to give us feedback on our work (whether talking to us and our musicians after the concerts, completing our feedback survey, or by leaving comments on social media), but we’re delighted that we now have 22 people signed up for our Family Forum! This is fantastic and means that we’ll be able to get even more insight into what you want from CCC. Check out some highlights on the video below!

Teachers, take note! If you'd like to get ahead next term with some musical activities to inspire and entertain your class, then we've got the perfect solution for you. We're delighted to announce our magnificent new concert film, 'Misterstourworm', will be launched in September 2025. The musical adventure follows young Coran as he, along with his mysterious Kelpie sidekick, battle to defeat the troublesome sea monster. Narrated by Sanjeev Kohli, and with music by the Scottish composer and harpist, Savourna Stevenson, and story by Stuart Paterson, this is the perfect introduction to orchestral music for the classroom, or indeed the whole family. Ideal for children aged 7 and up, you'll be able to see how the story and the music magically weave together: how the instruments portray the characters, or how they build the drama and tension in the story. For those of you who like to delve a little deeper, we'll also have an accompanying resource where you

We are working on a new resource to add to our collection, and we're looking for your help. Our new resource is called 'My Instrument and Me' and it's all about what music and your instrument means to you. We'd love to have some input from any young musicians out there. Do you love playing the violin more than anything? Do you race home from school to practise your flute? If so, perfect! Here's what we're looking for:  A couple of sentences about why you chose to learn your instrument and what it means to you A picture of you with your instrument Your first name and your age Please note: for this resource we're specifically looking for orchestral instruments. Also, by sending us your photo you are giving us permission to use the image in the resource, or on our website or social media platforms. The deadline for entries is the 13th June 2025. If you have any queries,

We're delighted to be heading on the road with 'Peter and the Wolf On Tour' in May with our fantastic Wind Ensemble. Before we set off on our wind-tastic adventure, we thought we should formally introduce our wonderful musicians so you know what to expect. So read on to learn some tips for learning to play an instrument, some favourite pieces and also to learn that a French Horn is actually four meters long! Ladies and gentlemen, we give you

What a start to 2025 for CCC! Our first performance of the year was our brand-new concert, ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Orchestra’. Audiences in Dundee and Aberdeen were taken on a musical adventure: Owen and a group of musicians from the Essential Orchestra had been running late (as usual!) for the concert and were caught in a rainstorm when they found themselves magically shrunk. The musicians were then greeted by a whole host of insects: grasshoppers, ladybirds, bees

Children’s Classic Concerts is delighted with the news that we have been offered multi-year funding from Creative Scotland. As we celebrate our 30th Anniversary we believe this reflects the amazing journey the organisation has been on since our first concerts in 1994 and the development process we have been through in more recent years. It is an endorsement of our vision and the quality and excellence that we bring to our performances for our young audiences.    We want to celebrate the amazing musical landscape we live in and this funding will ensure families have access to our work through live and digital activity, at home, in schools and in venues throughout the country. Helping music to thrive and inspiring the next generation of culturally engaged audiences.    We are grateful for the investment made by the Scottish Government and Creative Scotland and their commitment to supporting the arts sector as a whole – providing strength and resilience. Congratulations to all our
