We need your help! We’re busy preparing for our Halloween spooktacular, ‘Fright at the Museum’, and we’re on the lookout for some artwork from those talented young artists out there. These creations will magically be transformed into animations by the marvellous students on the University of the West of Scotland’s Computer Animation Arts course.

For those of you who have been to our Halloween concerts before, you’ll know that one of the highlights (or should we say, one of the many highlights!) of the concerts is the fabulous RSNO performing to these animations. It’s also one of the highlights of the year for us too, seeing what creations are conjured up by those imaginations.

The inspiration for this year is (drum roll please…!) Day of the Dead! We would love to see colourful dancing skeletons, vibrantly decorated skulls – a celebration of colour. Think of Coco and The Book of Life for inspiration.

To get your creative juices flowing we asked illustrator, Iain Carroll, who we’ve been working with on the soon-to-be-released ‘Misterstourworm’, if he could have a shot at the artistic challenge. Check out what he came up with (click on the image below to watch the video!):

If that still hasn’t sparked your imagination, have a listen to the music your animations will be accompanying: ‘Antrópolis’ by the Mexican composer, Gabriella Ortiz. Those Latin rhythms will surely inspire your art to shine!

The CCC Team will select a minimum of 12 illustrations to feature in the concerts in Glasgow and Edinburgh at the end of October, and one lucky winner will also win a family ticket to the CCC concert of their choice AND a one-off signed print of Iain’s Day of the Dead illustration.

TO ENTER: please email the image by Monday the 15th September at 9am to ccc@childrensclassicconcerts.co.uk or send to us via WhatsApp on 0141 334 6100. To allow the animators to work their magic we will also need a high-quality scan of the artwork along with your child’s name, age and your contact details. Good luck!
